Cons: - Surface finish on base is not the highest quality
- Setup requires more info/thought than the included directions contain
- The bracket is attached with adhesive strips, so it is less removable than most

Other Thoughts: I am willing to forgive both cons based on the fact that this is a fantastic heat sink for the $28 it currently costs.
Currently, it is one of the only low profile heatsinks that fits the Intel 1155 socket. I was lucky enough to have the knowhow to re-lap the surface to a mirror finish, with some care taken.
As for the complaints about the mounting situation, the bottom bracket is attached to the motherboard with adhesive strips already on the bracket. Before using this semi-permanent setup, you merely have to check the back of your motherboard and see which holes line up, the directions should not be needed.
As for people receiving bad parts, this is covered under newegg's fantastic standard warranty, you should have no issues getting a replacement.

Comments: It is a good overall heat sink, just quality control must have slipped up when mine was packaged. Running a e8500, before it was at a constant 42c idle, 55c under load, now its 37c, 48 under load.

Worst CPU Cooler I Have Ever Used!!!!!!2/6/2012 4:56:30 PM
Pros: Slim design and looks great, however that is as far as it goes. Looks like it is only compatible with a 775 intel socket.
Cons: The instructions as mention by others is true. It is horrid to say the least. I did not want to believe the feedback as I have installed countless CPU cooler and figured it was user error on the end users. Boy was I wrong.
Other Thoughts: Tried to install this in a Silverstone SG05BB-450 Mini-ITX case with an Asus Mini-ITX MB with a 1155 socket. First I tried to aline the holes, but noticed the holes on the socket did not aline to a 1155 cpu socket. The socket on the base plate is fixed and cannot be moved. I used a needle nose pliers thinking I could easy unscrew it to fit it on the 1155 hole, but it was fixed to the 775. So after an hour I gave up and tried to mount the cpu cooler with only 2 screws to secure it down. It looked like it worked. So I thought, when I tried to boot my machine the motherboard caused a fatal error. Not sure what happened and now I am forced to RMA my motherboard. I spent nearly 3-4 hours only to destroy my setup. As said on the title, 'Worst CPU cooler I have ever used'
Horrible install directions but works great.1/18/2012 11:39:11 AM
Comments: I went to their website hoping for photos and/or installation video. No dice, website just as bad as their horrible installation instructions. Don't get me wrong, it works but I'll still buy a different brand next time.
Not giving the performance I expected11/24/2011 9:27:18 PM
Comments: I bought this for my Silverstone Sugo SG05. Since I had a full sized GPU and my ram came with fins (not that they really need them) I wanted a heatsink that was small enough to fit and asymmetric if possible. Because of its size it was able to fit between the ram and graphics card although at only one orientation. There is a transistor on the back of my (and many) mITX board that blocks the stock bracket so I had to steal parts off a different set to get it to hold. Unfortunately, I am still able to push the CPU to its thermal threshold to the point that it automatically throttles back the voltage. This only happens while gaming but it hurts performance. This is not the experience that other reviewers have had so I would like to get a fan with a higher CFM and see if that solves it. Not many choices for my size constraints.
Comments: Bought this little guy to use in a server, it's going to work great I belive. It's very quiet, low profile and fits my needs perfectly. Newegg sells the standoffs by them self, I'll be getting a set just in case I need them. The heat pipes could be a problem on some boards, but they were as high if not higher than the surrounding components on my board but would only clear the RAM turned one way. Graet HSF and you can use a different fan with it if you want with no problems. Unlike some reviews, you can take the fan off without any problems once it's attached, just be careful with the rubber standoffs! Would buy another one without hesitation.
Over all I'm very happy with it, it's one of the only ones I found at a decent price that would work in my case, besides the stock HSF which of course is junk.

Comments: cools better than another brand upright 3 heatpipe 92mm cooler and is alot more quiet
